    Wednesday 19th March - Y4 Railway Trip

To consolidate their learning from History and the Industrial Revolution, Year 5 spent the day at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. The staff were complimented on how well behaved the children were and the high level of questions they were able to both ask and answer. Well done Year 5 and thank you to Mrs Raveendran for organising. The children certainly had many facts to share when they returned to school and had clearly enjoyed their day. (For more photos from the trip, please scroll to the bottom of our Blog page).

Thursday 6th March - World Book Day

World Book Day at Booker Hill Primary School & Nursery this year was another resounding success. The day started with a whole school assembly led by Miss White, and throughout the day the children took part in a live WBD lesson, had a shared read between different year groups and completed many activities linked to our chosen text, A Tale of Two Shoes by Helen Haraldson. During the morning, Bucks Adult Learning came and lead an Early Years workshop for our Nursery and Reception parent's focusing on a love of reading. Thank you to Miss White for arranging our WBD - we look forward to our live webchat with the author Helen next week! Monday 10th February - Year 4 Young Voices Concert

After many months of rehearsing, the Year 4's finally got to take part in the Young Voices concert at the Wembley Arena, London. We are so proud that our Year 4's became part of the 4,600 strong choir - the largest choir in the world! They had a long day, with rehearsals at 2pm till 5pm, followed by a performance to thousands of parents & carers at 7pm. We got back to Wycombe late into the evening, but the late night was worth it! Congratulations Year 4 - you were AMAZING! (For many more photos, please scroll to the bottom of the Blog page).

    Wednesday 5th February - Y1 Beekeeper Experience

On Wednesday this week, Year 1 enjoyed a visit from a local beekeeper who taught the children all about bees. The children tasted honey, tried on beekeeping clothes, rolled wax to make their own candles and learnt many facts about bees. In English lessons, Year 1 will be writing about bees and we cannot wait to see their written work. (If you would like to see more photos, please scroll down to the bottom of the Blog page).

Friday 13th December - Drumming Assembly

Today, our peripatetic music teacher, Mr Mark Campbell, treated the Booker Hill pupils to a rock concert! Not only did he play the drums superbly along to many classic hits, but by the end of the assembly he had created our very own Booker Hill band which we think should be called 'Rocker Hill'. Two of his current guitar pupils had done an excellent job of learning keys riffs on the electric guitar prior to the assembly, and they were able to support the drums today expertly. Key Stage 2 children are now able to start learning the drums next term, in addition to the guitar and piano lessons already on offer. Please check your SchoolPing messages for further information. Huge thanks to Mr Campbell!
