Safeguarding at Booker Hill

The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority.

At Booker Hill Primary School & Nursery, we are committed to creating a safe, caring and supportive environment where children can learn, thrive and feel valued.

We encourage children to speak to trusted adults, and we work closely with parents and external agencies whenever concerns arise.

What Safeguarding Means

Safeguarding includes:

  • Protecting children from harm
  • Promoting children's mental and physical wellbeing
  • Supporting attendance and welfare
  • Teaching children how to stay safe online
  • Working with families when support is needed

Working With Families

We aim to work openly and positively with parents whenever concerns arise.

Where we believe a child may need additional support, we may seek advice or assistance from other agencies. In most situations we will discuss this with parents. Occasionally, where a child may be at risk of significant harm, we may be required to act immediately and without prior discussion.

Radicalisation and Extremism

Like all schools, Booker Hill Primary School & Nursery has a duty to protect children from all forms of harm, including radicalisation and extremism.

We encourage parents to contact the school if they have concerns about a child who may be vulnerable to harmful influences, extremist views or online grooming.
